Boy Jailed 17 Years For Robbing a Fire Officer

An Accra circuit court has handed a 17 year jail sentence to Daniel Amevor who was convicted for attempted robbery.

The suspect was arraigned at an Accra Circuit Court by the James Town Police for attempting to rob a Fire Service officer of his mobile phone and money at knifepoint.

The victim was attacked while making a phone call in front of the Fire Service Training School

He was approached by the convict together with his accomplice, Abodie, who is currently on the run, to surrender his mobile phone and money.

Daniel Amevor slashed his victim’s wrist in an attempt to whisk his phone from him. The Fire officer cried out for help and his fellow officers came to his rescue.

The convict and his accomplice absconded but the Fire officers managed to arrest Daniel Amevor and handed him over to the Police while the victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.
