Nigeria’s death toll has reached 190 as the country grapples with measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease.
It has recorded 226 new cases pushing the total confirmed cases to 6,401. The new cases were recorded in 16 out of the 36 states.

Out of that number, Lagos State came top with the number of new cases as it recorded 131 cases.
A tweet by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) also linked 25 new cases with Ogun State while Plateau State came behind with 15 new cases.
NCDC also added that 11 new cases in Edo, 7 in Kaduna and 6 in Oyo. 5cases were reported in Abuja and Adamawa each.
4 cases were declared each in Jigawa, Ebonyi and Borno. Nasarawa has 3 cases with Bauchi and Gombe having 2 cases each. Enugu and Bayelsa states completed the list with one case each.

Nigeria has also seen a rise in the number of discharged coronavirus patients. The disease control agency pegged the nunber at 1,734 people.
