The younger brother of Macky Sall, president of Senegal, has announced that he has tested positive for the coronavirus disease.
Aliou Sarr who doubles as the mayor of Guédiawaye has being admitted at the Dalal Diamm hospital in the country’s capital, Dakar.

His wife is also reported to have tested positive for the virus and is undergoing treatment at the same hospital.
The president in an address to the nation thanked frontline health workers at the hospital for their professionalism and asked for prayers from the public.
Schools in the country are set to resume next week. The news of the president’s brother testing positive for coronavirus has been met with mixed feelings with some suggesting postponement.
The west African country has so far confirmed 3,253 cases of the coronavirus disease with 38 deaths and 1586 recoveries.
The country has been under a dusk-to-dawn curfew since late March in an effort to curb the spread of the virus. That measure is expected to end on June 2.
