Tennis Player Novak Djokovic Tests Positive For Coronavirus
World number one tennis player, Novak Djokovic has been confirmed to have contracted the coronavirus disease.
In a statement release today, a member of his backroom staff said the Serbian tennis player tested positive during a routine medical exercise.
The player had organised an exhibition tournament in his native Serbia and Croatia to raise some funds in pursuit of some humanitarian endeavours.
He joins his wife, Jelena and other tennis players who participated in the tournament.
It is understood that nobody wore face masks and social distancing wasn’t observed among the spectators.
The tennis players also interacted with other people without enforcing the safety protocols which are in place to curb the disease.
A small Croatian town, Zadar which had no confirmed coronavirus case are tracing people who were at the tournament after it hosted a part of the series.
