Dubai Police Releases Video Showing Arrest Of Hushpuppi And His Crew

Hushpuppi was arrested for cyber fraud by the Dubai police

The police in Dubai, United Arab Emirates has released a video of its officers conducting an operation that led to the arrest and detention of Nigerian famed millionaire Ray Hushpuppi.

This comes several days after he was picked up at his hotel room alongside his crew members. That operation was a joint collaboration between the Dubai police and Interpol.

Snippets from the four-minute video revealed the endemic culture of cyber crime in the affluent Gulf country which is believed to be perpetuated by foreigners living in that country.

Hushpuppi whose real name is Raymond Igbalodely and his gang were completely oblivious of the police operation as they were caught by surprised when the officers barged into their hotel apartment.

Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, the Dubai police chief expressed delight at the arrest of the Nigerian fraud kingpin.

He was quoted to have said:

“The arrest of ‘Hushpuppi’, ‘Woodberry’ & 10 gang members involved in money laundry & cyber fraud activities, is another achievement added to the proud record of Dubai police in ensuring the emirate’s security and safety.”

The police seized more than $40.9 million in cash, 13 expensive cars with a combined price tag of $6.8 million, 21 computer device, 47 smartphones, five hard disk wey containing 119,580 fraud files and the address of almost 2 million victims.

Hushpuppi is a Nigerian internet celebrity who posts pictures and videos of his extravagant lifestyle on his social media handles.
