Updates: EFCC Reacts To The Arrest Of Nigeria’s Anti-Corruption Boss
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC), has commented on news of the arrest of its acting chairman, Ibrahim Magu.
Earlier today, this platform reported the arrest of Ibrahim Magu at the office of the DSS on Monday afternoon over some corruption allegations.

Reports also stated that he was under interrogations but the State Security Service (DSS) has denied the reports stating that Mr Magu was taken to a presidential panel sitting at the banquet Hall of the villa.
The EFCC also said in a statement that their acting chairman was not arrested or forced to appear before the panel but went on his freewill.

“Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Magu on Monday, July 6, 2020, honoured an invitation by a Presidential Panel reviewing the activities of the EFCC, at the Banquet Hall wing of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He was served the invitation to the Panel, while on his way to the Force Headquarters, Abuja for a meeting.
The EFCC’s boss was neither arrested nor forced to honour the invitation. A member of a legal team from the EFCC is also with him on the Panel.”
