American Ballet Theatre Gives Scholarship To Viral Nigerian Ballet Dancer Who Danced In The Rain

An American ballet theatre has given 11-year-old Anthony Madu scholarship after going viral with a video of him dancing in the rain.

Anthony got the admiration of many social media users and also trending for the fact that he is male and could perform ballet moves effortlessly.

Many American celebrities fell in love with the video and encouraged him to pursue ballet and become a professional dancer.

The American Ballet Theatre in New York offered him a scholarship from Ballet Beyond Borders and arranged internet access for the 11-year-old to experience virtual training sessions this summer.

Anthony share with Washington Post how excited he is to have the scholarship.

“When my friends see me dancing, they feel like, ‘what is this boy doing, is he doing a foreign dance?’?” he said.
“Now I have won a grand prize to go to the US… I will be in the plane and this is what I am waiting for, and ballet has done it for me.”
