Armed Robbers Will Be Happy If We Disband SARS – Mike Okiro

Former inspector general of the Nigerian police, Mike Okiro has opined that, armed robbers will be the beneficiaries if the clamour for the disbandment of the SARS unit of the Nigerian police service, is heeded to.

The former security capo was speaking in an interview with News Agency Nigeria – NAN when he made these remarks.

He suggested that, if members of the SARS unit of the police force are not doing the right thing, then they should be trained to change and not to disband them completely.

He added that, disbanding the group will only inure to the benefit of criminals which Nigerians are not ready for. Below are his words.

“The police management should go to the drawing board and retrain personnel of the SARS as it will be counter-productive to disband them. You cannot throw away the baby with the bath water, if they have deviated from what they were established for they should be retrained and refocused.

Armed robbers will be happy that there is no more SARS in the country but are Nigerians ready for that“.
