Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale has been hitting hard at the Nigerian police recently following agitations in the country to disband the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the police force.

The artiste who joined the social media campaigns to get the unit dissolved, has taken things a notch higher by hitting the studio to record a diss song to the police.

In the song, Shatta Wale hits really hard on the police and has followed that up with a series of tweets to make his message clearer.

In one of his tweets, he wondered why when black people are killed in other parts of the world, Africans rise up in unison to fight it but when blacks are harassed and killed in Africa, everyone keeps quiet?

“Black lives need to matter to black people. It’s time Africans make Africa’s matter their matter”, he tweeted.

The IGP of the Nigerian police yesterday announced the dissolution of the SARS unit as demanded by the citizens. But the citizens are demanding more than just disbanding the unit.

They want an independent investigation to be conducted into some of the misconducts of the men of SARS and appropriate punishments meted out to them.
