Tiwa Savage Recounts Her Terrible Racial Abuse Experience That Made Her Thought Of Suicide
Nigerian songstress, Tiwa Savage has revealed in an interview with Obi Uchendu that she nearly committed suicide on two different occasions due to some racial abuses she suffered.
The mother of one recounted that, she was taken to London at age 10 by her mother. She continued that her Nigerian accent made her a subject of ridicule among her white peers in school.

She also added that, her food, accent and even her appearance were mocked on different occasions. This, according to her, made her to attempt suicide on two different occasions.

She said: “I was teased so bad. They used to call me ‘African girl’, ‘Foo foo’, ‘Your food smells’ and so on. It was terrible. It was so bad that I literally tried to kill myself two times. I was really depressed.”
