Hope Uzodinma, the Imo State governor has expressed his support for social media to be regulated in Nigeria.
The governor made this known when he hosted the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu in the capital, Owerri.
“I am strongly advocating that social media should be regulated in Nigeria. Opposition party incited hoodlums to cause trouble in Imo, because the real protesters went off the street after my address and assurances to them.” Governor Uzodinma said.
The federal government suggested the desire to have social media activities regulated in Nigeria because the authorities feel that citizens are abusing it.
The End SARS protest started from social media and that has always been the reference point for the advocates of this new suggestion on the table.
