Twitter Influencer Jabs Sarkodie for Performing at Pepsodent Event
Popular Twitter influencer Albert Nat Hyde, popularly known as Bongo Ideas, has slammed rapper Sarkodie after his recent performance at an event held by Pepsodent.
The toothpaste brand billed the rapper, real name Michael Owusu Addo, to perform at a programme promoting their product.
Videos from the event showed a modest attendance that did not please the harsh critic.
Bongo jumped on his X (formerly Twitter) handle to blast Sarkodie for agreeing to perform at such a lowkey event.
He said such stages should be reserved for up and coming artists and not a heavyweight like Sarkodie.
Bongo Ideas said the performance is a sad indictment of Sarkodie’s career.
He argued that in 2025, the rapper should be rubbing shoulders on bigger stages.
Bongo Ideas wrote, “Stages like this should be reserved for OliveTheBoy, Kojo Blaq, Beeztrap & the upcomers. Sarkodie shouldn’t be competing to mount such platforms in 2025 if he’s thinking about legacy! Leave and let the other guys shine, eye-red.”
Despite the criticism, Sarkodie is billed for more performances with the Pepsodent brand.
The rapper and international Ghanaian superstar Black Sheriff is billed to appear at the ‘Black & White’ timeline on Saturday, June 14.
The programme is scheduled for the Diaspora Dome at the University of Ghana, Legon.
Black Sherif, who is touring the world, has been spotted in Ghana ahead of the programme.
Bongo Ideas, a former blogger, has become synonymous with heated criticisms on social media.
He typically hits celebrities for their actions in harsh and unfiltered tones.
Critics have described him as a clout chaser who uses over-the-top criticisms to generate attention.
His words have sometimes gotten him in trouble, such as when he claimed he was abducted by some unknown men.
He claimed they were government-sponsored thugs, but no official declaration about the identity or background of his kidnappers has been made by authorities.
