Earlier today, Babu Owino issued a statement regarding his arrest for firing his gun at Club B, injuring DJ Evolve.

In his statement, the Embakasi East member of parliament said that he acted in self defense.

A video that has surfaced shows quite the opposite. The leaked CCTV camera video shows Babu Owino under no physical threat, smoking sheesha and firing his gun in cold blood.

He claimed that for weeks now his life has been in danger; an issue that he took to the parliament police after an assassination attempt at the turn of the year.

He further went ahead to say that the shooting at the club was caused by intimidation by aggressive individuals at the club that night.

“While enjoying the company of my friends at a popular Nairobi restaurant, I was surrounded by a large group of aggressive individuals.

In the melee, there was an exchange of gunfire,” wrote MP Babu Owino.

However, in the video, we see no exchange of gunfire. Just one shooter (Babu) firing his gun at close range.

Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has issued an official statement following his arrest earlier today.

His statement comes after DCI recovered the gun he used during the shooting at the club.

The gun was recovered together with nine rounds of ammunition. It will serve as evidence during the trial.

The DJ in the ICU at Nairobi Hospital is DJ Evolve who is well known. He frequents many clubs and entertainment spots in Nairobi.

Babu Owino who is being detained recently issued his statement that claimed his life has been in danger for some weeks now.

He said that at the turn of the year he reported an assassination attempt at the Parliament Police station.

Since then, he has been receiving constant threats by who he claims are his political opponents.

“Yesterday was the culmination of these efforts by my enemies. While enjoying the company of my friends at a popular Nairobi restaurant…

I was surrounded by a large group of aggressive individuals. In the melee, there was an exchange of gunfire,” read the statement.

Babu Owino asked that the authorities carry out their investigations without favor or fear.

“I remain confident that the truth will come out,” said Babu as he urged his supporters to remain calm.

He finished by saying that this case will not stop him from serving the people.

“This will not deter me from supporting H.E Uhuru Kenyatta and H.E Raila Odinga in the journey to transform our country.”

Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino was on Friday 17th arrested after being tied to a shooting incident.

The controversial leader was allegedly involved in a shooting in Nairobi’s B Club located along Galana Road within Kilimani.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has just issued a statement on Twitter regarding the case.

“Detectives based at Kilimani have today arrested Hon. Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino.

The Member of Parliament for Embakasi East was arrested following a shooting incident at B Club located along Galana Road within Kilimani.

The MP is in lawful custody as further investigations continue,” read the tweet.

Sources have confirmed that a DJ suffered gunshot wounds in the shooting and is currently in ICU at Nairobi Hospital.

While the law requires full evidence to convict anyone, netizens are already making their judgement on social media.
