The arrest of musicians, Omah Lay and Tems continues to dominate headlines as many Nigerian celebrities have added their voices to call for their release.

The duo were arrested after performing on a show which contravenes directives against mass gathering in Uganda.

The duo were charged to court and were subsequently taken to different prisons in the country.

The calls to get them released have so far fallen on deaf ears.

Ace comedian, Bovi has also added his voice to the ongoing brouhaha. He’s of the view that, Uganda should release Omah Lay and Tems and replace them with some politicians in Nigeria.

He took to twitter and wrote: “Dear @KagutaMuseveni please kindly use your executive powers to #FreeTemsAndOmahLay . They didn’t plan the show. Ugandans planned the show. If you have scores to settle with our government, let us know. We have people in govt we can exchange our artists with”

Nigerian Twitter users are voting to choose who among stand up comedians AY and Bovi is funniest. Many comments coming forth seems to be in favor of Bovi.

The poll began when a twitter user identified with the handle. Duke of Lautech, asked people to choose which comedian they will invite for their event.

“You have an upcoming event and you need a comedian, who would you go for?” he quizzed. One of the commentaries stated that even AY would choose Bovi to attend his event. Read more below.

Interesting fact to note is that the two comedians have shared same stage on many occasions and were friends until a certain actress reportedly broke their friendship.

Nigerian comedian Bovi has proven that he is not part of the small group of celebs who celebrated victory with COZA pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo after court ruled in favour of him yesterday.

Yesterday November 14, an Abuja federal High Court acquitted Biodun of the rape charges celebrity photographer Busola Dakolo filed against him.

Several celebs have taken sides as expected, with some rooting for Busola’s innocence and others for the pastor’s.

One of such is Bovi who posted on Twitter a direct shade aimed at Biodun Fatoyinbo’s way. Bovi cited American stars who had their careers ruined by such rape cases including RnB singer R Kelly and actor Bill Cosby.
