Rumors that came sometime ago that Nigerian actress Tonto Dikeh was arrested in Dubai for drugs has been cleared by the actress.

Tonto Dikeh said she was never arrested on drug charges in the Arab country but she engaged in an argument with a security guard after he called her a prostitute.

She claimed she would have been behind bars if she was arrested for drug trafficking.

”That incident in Dubai was not drugs because if it was I would be in jail. It had nothing to do with drugs or alcohol even.

“On that day, I was insulted by one of the guards. He said something very derogatory to me in Arabic, I think Lebanon. It’s called Sharamuta which means prostitute, it means a call girl and I was not so dressed.

“But it was a show, so I had like a very amazing bra inside and this blazer on top. To them, it is Haram when you are not dressed properly. So that is where all of the altercation started. That was the only problem, any other information is just false,” Tonto said.

When asked to shed more light on what she went to do in Dubai she said;

“I really don’t want to go into so much detail about Dubai because I have a home there now and I want to be able to enter freely after all of this and that is why I never really talked about it”.

The lawyer representing Nigerian internet sensation Hushpuppi in his American trial has affirmed his client’s innocence and vowed to ensure the millionaire braggart walks away a free man.

Gal Pissetzky of Pissetzky & Berliner, a prolific lawyer who has succeeded in proving the innocence of his clients in several high profile cases mentioned this in an interview with Forbes magazine.

He averred that his 37 year-old client is a prominent entrepreneur with interests in real estate and other sectors. He also added that he rakes in substantial amount of money from using his famous status to promote brands of products on his social media handles.

Hushpuppi whose real name is Ramon Olorunwa Abbas, is in the United States to face a trial on charges of internet fraud and money laundering. He was last month arrested at his luxurious Dubai apartment and subsequently extradited to the United States.

He attained celebrity status after he took Instagram by storm and flaunted his wealth and possessions. He faces a maximum prison term of twenty years if he is found guilty.

While surrounded by some unknown friends, Hushpuppi whose real name is Ramon Olorunwa Abbas explained that he likes to give to charity organisations and also young entrepreneurs who lack funding to start their business.

The 37 year old socialite was arrested early June this year by a combined team of Dubai police and Interpol operatives on the direct orders of the United States.

He was subsequently extradited to the United States where he faces multiple charges of money laundering and engaging in cyber fraud.

The police in Dubai has confirmed that popular Nigerian social media celebrity, Hushpuppi has been sent to the United States to face trial for his involvement in a string of internet scams perpetuated against American citizens.

The sensational internet millionaire braggart was arrested at his home in Dubai, United Arab Emirates through a joint force of the Dubai police and Interpol.

This was on the direct orders of American investigators who traced some sophisticated scams to the Nigerian and other members of his group.

The Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Christopher Wray has praised the exceptional efforts exerted by the United Arab Emirate, represented by the Dubai Police General HQ, in combating transnational organised cybercrime including the recent arrest of Raymond Igbalode Abbas, known as “Hushpuppi” and Olalekan Jacob Ponle aka “Woodberry” who were taken down in operation “Fox Hunt 2”.

The police in Dubai, United Arab Emirates has released a video of its officers conducting an operation that led to the arrest and detention of Nigerian famed millionaire Ray Hushpuppi.

This comes several days after he was picked up at his hotel room alongside his crew members. That operation was a joint collaboration between the Dubai police and Interpol.

Snippets from the four-minute video revealed the endemic culture of cyber crime in the affluent Gulf country which is believed to be perpetuated by foreigners living in that country.

Hushpuppi whose real name is Raymond Igbalodely and his gang were completely oblivious of the police operation as they were caught by surprised when the officers barged into their hotel apartment.

Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, the Dubai police chief expressed delight at the arrest of the Nigerian fraud kingpin.

He was quoted to have said:

“The arrest of ‘Hushpuppi’, ‘Woodberry’ & 10 gang members involved in money laundry & cyber fraud activities, is another achievement added to the proud record of Dubai police in ensuring the emirate’s security and safety.”

The police seized more than $40.9 million in cash, 13 expensive cars with a combined price tag of $6.8 million, 21 computer device, 47 smartphones, five hard disk wey containing 119,580 fraud files and the address of almost 2 million victims.

Hushpuppi is a Nigerian internet celebrity who posts pictures and videos of his extravagant lifestyle on his social media handles.
