Firefighters and emergency crew are reportedly at the Beirut Port battling the fire just about a month after a huge explosion in the country.

It is unclear what caused the fore but the blaze is said to have happened at a warehouse containing oil and tyres on Thursday afternoon, September.

The warehouse is close to the location where the the blast occurred last month injuring over 6,000 people and killing over 200 more.

The Washington Post’s correspondent in Beirut, Liz Sly, tweeted footage of Thursday afternoon’s blaze, writing: “Another big fire at Beirut port. Everyone’s freaking out.”

Prime Minister Hassan Diab and the entire Lebanese government have resigned after the deadly explosion hit Beirut last week.

In a public speech, the PM announced his resignation saying he is taking ‘a step back’ so he can help the people ‘fight the battle for change’.

People took to the streets to protest for a change after the explosion killed at least 160 people in Beirut and left many injured.

Mr Diab repeated the phrase”I declare today the resignation of this government. May God Protect Lebanon” three times during his speech.

Three cabinet ministers and seven members of parliament resigned last week, and now the countries Prime Minister, Hassan Diab and his entire government have stepped down.

Over 50 people are feared dead and thousands injured in a massive explosion that occurred in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

Videos making rounds on social media captured moments where smoke was seen coming from a building before a heavy blast occurred followed by a mushroom cloud.

It still remains unclear what called the explosion but reports from many sources say hospitals are overwhelmed due to the many injuries.

Lebanon’s internal security chief said the blast happened in an area housing highly explosive materials.

A report from a BBC Journalist at the scene said dead bodies have scattered the streets and damages occurred is enough to cripple the country.
