Ghanaians are mourning following the tragic death of Ghanaian artiste Emmanuel Apraku popularly known as Ray Styles.

Ray Styles fell sick with a liver issue and needed about £40,000 to undergo surgery. Videos and photos of the once healthy artist went viral with him soliciting for help to pay his hospital bills.

Ray Styles was reported dead earlier this morning October 1st out of complications to his liver, despite raising $70,000 for his surgery.

He is well known for drawing celebrities and was recognized by Hollywood superstar Will Smith for drawing a caricature poster for his is movie Bad Boys 2.

Ray Styles’ Instagram page (Penciled Celebrities), and social media in general, have reacted with shock to the news.

Kenyan journalist and Estee Lauder’s Cancer Ambassador Anjlee Gadhvi has just died. She suffered from liver and lung cancer.

The K24 news anchor passed away on Friday afternoon on the 10th of January while receiving treatment at Aga Khan Hospital.

Her death has been confirmed by the head of K24, Peter Opondo. In a twitter post, Peter wrote “Oh my friend Anjlee Gadhvi, You fought that cancer beast with all your might..”

“You did it for your kids and husband. You never lost hope. You always smiled through the pain and insisted on coming to work even at your weakest points.”

“We believed you were winning…until now! RIP my friend.” finished Peter.

Anjlee was diagnosed with liver cancer back in 2013. She however only went public about it in 2015.

By then, the various treatments had depleted funds raised by her close ones i.e family and friends. The rest of Kenya helped her raise Sh. 6 million to continue with the treatments.

Last year, she went to India for treatment and shared an update on the CyberKnife treatment she underwent.

The Cyberknife treatment is a radiation therapy device that delivers radiosurgery for treatment of malignant and benign tumors.

In December 2019 she went on holiday to Mombasa with her entire family. In a post shared on Instagram, Gadhvi wrote “I just hope I make it through and make many more memories!”

Her last post on her Instagram stories before she died was the Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi.

Her death comes as a sad blow to all who supported her through her fight with cancer; her family, friends, colleagues and many Kenyans.

Nigerian rapper Cameey has died. The rapper who was known as Joel Essoumam in real life, has been battling liver cancer for some years now. He succumb to the disease on Thursday.

He was infected Hepatitis B which later deteriorated into lung cancer. The unfortunate news was announced by the rapper’s management on his Instagram page.

Some of his hit songs were Supernatural, Better Days, Gaddem Vibe, Juice and Dollar Boy. His fans have been expressing their grief on his social media pages.
