As the year inches closer to an end, all manner of statistics are being made to be able to know how the various entertainers performed in the year.

A research conducted by renowned music rating and statistics firm, Charts Africa has revealed the top five most searched songs in Nigeria for the year, 2020.

Presenting the list on Twitter, Charts Africa placed Davido’s hit song off his ‘A Better Time’ album, FEM at the top spot.

The controversial song was believed to be a diss to Burna Boy. This might have contributed a lot to the searches it received.

Also making the cut is Simi’s Duduke together with songs from, Rema, Mayorkun and Xxxtentacion.

Nigeria musician, David Ayodeji Adeleke popularly known as Davido has been working with a couple of artistes under his DMW record label but little is known about how he got all of them to work with.

One of the stars in his camp is Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, known in the entertainment industry as Mayorkun.

Davido after building so much confidence in the ability of Mayorkun took to his Twitter page to share a screenshot of how he met the great talent.

In the said conversation, it appears that Mayorkun made the move to contact Davido but not with the intention of being signed.

According to the messages shared, Mayorkun sent some of his tracks to Davido to listen to and probably help him correct some errors.

Davido after listening to the songs got impressed and told Mayorkun point blank that he wanted to sign him. This happened four years ago.

Nigerian fast rising singer, Mayorkun has taken to his social media pages to dish out a piece of advice to his colleagues in the music industry.

The DMW signee seems to be having an issue with some industry players who think that the best way to rise to the top is to pull someone down.

He wrote on his Snapchat handle that, it’s alright for one to aspire to be the best but the fellow should becareful not to drag someone down whiles at it. He further advised that those who do that end up at where they were before dragging their colleagues down.

Taking to his Snapchat account, Mayorkun wrote: “I Get the whole idea of being the best and shit but if your strategy is to drag someone else down while you at, it will probably work but you’d be right back where you coming from in no time”
