Celebrated music sensation and the former Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) President, Bice Osei Kuffour who is popularly known in the music circle as Obour has lost the Asante Akyem South Constituency primaries in the Ashanti Region in the just ended NPP primaries.

The popular crooner, Obour was contesting with three other people including the incumbent Member of Parliament Hon. Kwaku Asante Boateng.

After the heated campaign that wasn’t supported by his own colleague in the music industry for the reasons best known to them, Obofour wasn’t successful in the count of the election results.

The politician cum musician in response to what brought up his lost has said that:

“The delegates of the NPP have decided,” he said in his concession speech. Kwaku Asante Boateng has shown that he is an experienced politician; he’s been in parliament two terms already, and he is going the third term. “Definitely he may have some tricks I don’t have,” he admitted but said it is all good for him as a first-timer. This is my first time of coming into the race and I think the delegates of Asante Akyem South have really shown me, love”.

Bice Osei Kuffuor aka Obour, Former MUSIGA president, is on a smooth cruise as he has won the contest in the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary primary in the Asante Akyem South constituency.

Obour swept incumbent MP, Hon. Kwaku Asante Boateng off his feat and beat six others he was in the race with to assume the seat.

The Musician has now set sail on a cruise to becoming a member of Parliament on the ticket of the NPP in the upcoming elections.

Joy News channel from Multi-Media Group yesterday was in a bit of frenzy has reports indicates that singer Obour was in their studios some time ago and it seems the MUSIGA president is alleged of being in contact with his dad who is reported to have died of COVID-19.

Ghanaians upon hearing the said report backlash Obour for failing to report to the appropriate authorities that, his father was awaiting COVID-19 test and should have protected themselves in that regard.

In response to this, Obour has released a statement and in the statement, he expressed how shocked he was for a lead brand in journalism like Joy News to make an erroneous report.

Ever since Gyedu Blay Ambolley lost the elections after contesting for the post as President For MUSIGA, the opposing faction have always witnessed backlash upon backlash for one thing or the other from the legendary musician.

Okyeame Kwame and Gyedu Blay Ambolley were in the news for some sort of allegations from Ambolley that didn’t please Okyeame Kwame who happens to be an executive member of MUSIGA.

It all started when Gyedu Ambolley in the studios of 3fm posited that Obour not excluding Okyeame Kwame have looted MUSIGA funds worth GH¢50,000 from the GH¢2m fiscal budget which was given to the union by the government in 2012.

Okyeame Kwame upon hearing this allegations sort advice from his lawyer, as his lawyer came out with a statement instructing Ambolley to retract his allegations.

ln an interview with Happy FM’s Mercy Bee, Gyedu Blay Ambolley has stated emphatically that OKyeame Kwame is at his liberty to go to court.

Ghanaian rapper, Okyeame Kwame in a letter through his lawyers has asked Ghanaian musician Gyedu Blay Ambolley to retract his comment that the president of MUSIGA loaned the former an amount of GHC50,000.00.

Mr. Ambolley made the comment during an interview with TV3, one of Ghana’s Television stations. The letter spelled clearly the action Okyeame Kwame wants to be taken and added that Ambolley has within 72 hours to retract and apologize or have him faced in court.

He shared the letter on his instagram page this afternoon with a lengthy caption, stating that he wishes for the right to be done.

He wrote, ‘I will like to tell my business partners, stakeholders, and my fans that Gyedu-Blay Ambolley has perpetrated untrue fabricated lies about my character and reputation. However, my lawyers are handling it. Thank you all for the support.

It is my honest prayer that Gyedu Blay Ambolley, will do the needful which includes but not limited to due diligence, retraction and apology before the 72-hour duration given him.
