Nigerian actor Yul Edochie has placed the current state of his country Nigeria on British colonizers saying they cursed Nigeria before leaving.

His words were responds to colleague actress Uche Jombo’s question on ”Who cursed Nigeria?” Yul Edochie opined that Nigeria was cursed to keep misunderstanding each other and making little progress so they can depend on their former colonizers for help.

The actor included in his tweet that the same curse has been placed on other African countries with here colonized. He advised that Africa needs to wake up and break that curse.

“Oyibo people!
They structured it in such a way that it will never work. So we’ll keep misunderstanding and fighting each other, making little progress and depending on them for everything. Same thing they did in many other African countries. Africa needs to wake up” his tweet read.

Seven women, on Thursday July 30, were found dead in a beauty salon in the Rijau Local Government Area of Niger State, Nigeria.

Confirming the news to local papers, Wasiu Abiodun, Spokesperson of the State police command, said the victims, two married and five single ladies met their death when they went to the said salon to make their hair.

The area had experienced a heavy downpour the same day and electricity was cut off, according to sources.

The Saloon in order to continue working used a generator and closed the door, eyewitnesses say the women died from inhaling fumes from the generator.

Two women choked to death on the spot while five died in the hospital. Waisu said investigation into the incident has began and the bodies have been released to the families.

His comment comes at the back of a recent study that showed Nigeria’s population will exceed that of China in the year 2100.
