Nollywood actress, Beverly Osu has suggested that those who falsely accuse others of rape should be punished.

She opined that those who are found guilty of such should be given a jail term of not less than two years.

She’s of the opinion that when a female accuses someone of rape and later comes back to back track, it shouldn’t end there but rather the person should be made to pay dearly for it.

A lady has narrated a chilling account of how she was sexually abused by kidnappers and also forced to have sex with her brother.

Chioma Dioke, 20, disclosed on Tuesday, July 28, that she and her brother were kept hostage for five days in a forest called Sambisa forest located in Ezzagu in Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State after they visisted the area for business.

Narrating her ordeal to newsmen at the state police command in Abakaliki after her rescue from her abductors, Chioma said she was repeatedly raped the kidnappers while others inserted hands, rods and sticks into her private part. She said they also forced her brother to have sex with her even though he told them it was incest and forbidden.

According to Chioma, they were taken hostage because the owner of an investment business they work with reportedly ran away from the community with the payments made by their customers without the knowledge of Chioma and her brother.

And in anger, the youths abducted Chioma, her brother, and one other person involved in the business and held them hostage in the bush where they were starved, threatened, and sexually assaulted.

A 47-year-old man, one Eromosele Mahmud, has been arrested by the Rivers state police command for allegedly raping his daughter for the past five years and impregnating her in the process.

Mahmud, a single parent and father of three from the Esako West Local Government Area of Edo State but resident in Port Harcourt, according to the spokesperson of the state police command, Nnamdi Omoni, confessed that he has been raping his own daughter since she was 12.

He revealed to the police that he doesn’t know what pushed him to start sleeping with his own child but his daughter began enjoying their sexual intercourse and was the one who initiated it sometimes.

The victim disclosed to the police during an interrogation that her father becomes hostile towards her and would not pay her school fees whenever she refused to have sex with him.

“It was my father who impregnated me; he started having sex with me when I was 12-year-old till now. The first time he came and lay with me on the bed, when I tried to scream, he told me to shut up that my mates were doing the same thing and anytime I refused to allow him, he would not buy anything for me and he would refuse to pay my school fees.” she said.

When interrogated, Mahmud said

“This is a battle I have tried to fight over the years and it seems to be much bigger than me. I am not going to withdraw any fact or truth as far as this case is concerned. If this is the only way my daughter can be liberated if I go to prison, then it is good. My happiness is that I am relieved even as I speak to you now.

I can’t really remember when it started, but like I told you, it’s more of a spiritual thing. It is very unusual for a father to be sleeping with his own daughter. I am not a party to abortion, so whatever it is, the social welfare people and other government officials involved in this matter know the best way to handle this pregnancy. As a father, I cannot support abortion for my daughter, what if anything happens to her in the process.

I don’t rape her regularly; it happens once or twice in a year; she used to be very cooperative, even when I don’t want it, she tries to force herself on me.”

Mahmud would be charged to court once investigations have been concluded according to the state police command spokesperson.

The Akwa Ibom police has arrested a 35-year-old pastor Jacob Nnamso for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl inside his church.

It was revealed that the parents of the 16-year-old girl sent her to the pastor for counselling and prayers.

The pastor of the Living Power of Zion Church had instructed the victim’s parents that they should bring the girl for prayers after they consulted him for spiritual guidance.

The public relations officer of the state police, Nudam Fredrick said the incident occurred on June 23.

He added that the pastor laced a drink with a drug which rendered the teenager drowsy. The pastor then had carnal knowledge of the teenager while her parents waited outside.

The parents who became suspicious after their daughter spent quite a long time at the pastor’s office barged into the room only to be met by that ugly incident.

The parents immediately made a formal complaint to the police and the pastor was arrested to help police in their investigations.
