Legendary Footballer Pape Diouf Dies After Battling With Coronavirus

Football loving fans more especially fans of France’s side Olympic Marseille are in grief as their president Pape Diouf dies of coronavirus.

Reports from the club’s official social media earlier on Tuesday, March 31, 20202, reported that the 68-year-old was battling coronavirus.

Pape Diouf was being treated in a hospital in Senegal, the country of his birth, after contracting the virus but ut happens the old man couldn’t survive it.

A statement on Marseille’s Twitter account read:

“Olympique de Marseille learned with great sadness of the death of Pape Diouf. Pape will remain forever in the hearts of Marseillais as one of the great craftsmen of the history of the club. Our condolences to his family and loved ones.”

Olympique de Marseille announced the demise of Pape Diouf via Twitter below:

Big News: Akon Confirms Building of Akon City in Senegal With New Currency Akoin

Legendary singer and rapper Akon has announced some big plans. He is about to build a new city in Senegal.

He is also going to base the economy of the new city around his new cryptocurrency dubbed Akoin.

He recently took to Instagram writing “Just finalized the agreement for Akon City in Senegal. Looking forward to hosting you there in the future.”

The producer was born in Missouri however he is of Senegalese descent. He made the big announcement speaking at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

In front of the panel called Branding Africa, Akon said that the city will be called the Akon Crypto City.

He also added that the proposed Akoin currency will be the ”savior of Africa” in many ways. This is because of the currency’s security benefits.

“The system of the cryptocurrency allows the people to utilize it in ways where they can advance themselves and not allow the government to do those things that are keeping them down,” said Akon.

When the panel asked him questions regarding the city’s construction, Akon replied saying “I come with the concepts and let the geeks figure it out.”

Akon Crypto city will be built on 2000 acres of land. The land was gifted to the musician by the President on Senegal.

The city will be stationed only five minutes away from the new international airport.

It will also be close to the coast and a short drive from Dakar, the country’s capital.

Akon who is very excited about the project said that it will be a real life Wakanda – the high tech city in Black Panther.

Akon Divulges He’s Building His Own City In Senegal

American-born Senegalese musician, Akon, has divulged plans to build his own city in Senegal within the next ten years.

Speaking with Nick Canon on his morning talk show, Akon said that he started building the city in March and is still making progress. He added that the city will be called ‘Akon City’ and will have its own cryptocurrency called ‘Akoin’.

Other amenities the city will have is an airport to fly its residents in and out.

49 Nigerian Cyber Criminals Arrested In Senegal During a Midnight Operation

A total of 49 suspected cyber criminals were arrested last Saturday, November 2, announced the Dakar gendarmerie on Monday. All suspects of Nigerian nationals.

According to a report, the suspects were allegedly planning a “massive” cyber attack based on the first elements of the investigation.

The piracy was to target the operator, Orange Senegal, who had filed a complaint for “attempted intrusion into a computer system“.

It was the investigators from the gendarmerie’s research section who made the huge sweep. On Saturday afternoon, the gendarmes surprise mobile phones and especially computers, about sixty of them, were seized by the police. “It’s a very organized team that has been stopped” said a source close to the case.

Nigerians based in Senegal are said to be linked to piracy targeting Orange Côte d’Ivoire in June. They would have diverted the equivalent of 449 million CFA francs, nearly 700,000 euros, according to the elements of the investigation. Two other recent computer intrusions in Sierra Leone would also be to their credit.
