A thief was caught asleep in his car and handed over to the police after he successfully raided the house of a popular Tanzanian television presenter.

The presenter, Farouk Karim, told the police that the thief scaled his wall and made away with his cloths and shoes before trying to steal his car.

Farouk added that he found the thief asleep in his car,”We found him deep asleep in the car with all he had stolen the previous night on his lap… I think as he tried removing the power window from the driver’s side that’s when he fell asleep,” he said.

The journalist proceeded to call the police after angry mob in the neighborhood tried to beat the thief. “We accompanied him to the police station as one would a bride on her wedding day. I think he fell asleep after getting contented with his loot.”

The bizarre incident reportedly took place at 240 Abak road after Ikot Okubo market in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State’s capital. The thief was told to return all he stole within two days or he death will be his portion.

One Facebook user by name Kingsley Achugbu posted this info, “Happening Now: Beside 240 Abak road close to Uddy King filling station immidatly after Ikot Okubo market, a00e young man that has been identify as a thief a specialist in breaking and entering; into peoples apartment to Cart away their belonging received strange matured millipede numbering more than 500 inside his house why some where within the walls and floor of his house outside parading round the compound. Attached is a copy of the latter in front of the house showing what he was alleged to have stolen and to be returned within two (2) days or he die

A Nigerian man has been arrested for allegedly stealing a panty belonging to a pregnant lady.

The suspect was nabbed, today, inside the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University in Lapai, Niger State, and has since been handed to security officials.

Police in Cape Coast of Ghana’s Central region have arrested a man for allegedly breaking into the house of Professor Martin Ekor, a lecturer at the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Irene Oppong, Regional Public Relations Officer, said the suspect Mr John Mensah allegedly made away with one 43-inch LG flat-screen television, a DSTV decoder and a set of Wi-Fi equipment from the lecturer’s home within the UCC Lecturers’ Village.

She said on Thursday, August 29, at 1930 hours, the suspect took advantage of the absence of the victim and broke into the sitting room through the windows to steal the items.

DSP Oppong said initial inquiry revealed that the complainant was away for two weeks and there was nobody in the bungalow.

She said the suspect was arrested later upon a tip-off leading to the retrieval of the items and he is currently in police custody awaiting trial.
