Kenyan singer and songwriter Victoria Kimani has today launched something new – and it’s not music.

The artist who was previously signed to Nigerian record label Chocolate City has ventured into the beauty insustry.

She has just launched Kimani Luxury Braid, a shop selling funky colored braids in over 20 different colorful variations.

Victoria has always been daring with her hairstyles and hair colors. She is a proud believer of colorful hair don’t care.

Taking to her Instagram, Victoria announced the launch of her online shop with pictures of the products.

“Time to launch my lil baby, Kimani Luxury Braid. I’ve been thinking a long time about a product that I can breath new life into for girls and ladies in Kenya.

I’m proud to see that product finally come to life! We all wear braids but they don’t have to be boring!!

Shop over 20+ funky colors and 2-4 tone ombre braids now on Kimani Luxury Braids,” she wrote.

Victoria Kimani has received a lot of criticism for not releasing fresh music in a while. Perhaps she was busy making other money moves such as this.

She now joins the list of public figures in the beauty Industry – a list that includes Vera Sidika, Huddah, Joanna Kinuthia and Sheila Ndinda among others.

Victoria has pledged that the first 150 people to order the hair will get a little gift from her.

“The first 150 orders come in this exclusive re-usable box and a little gift from me. Enjoy ladies!”

Artist Victoria Kimani and Capital FM star Miss Mandi are at war; well, on Twitter at least. The whole feud started after Victoria attacked radio stations for not promoting enough local music.

Victoria Kimani took to Instagram to say that promoters, DJs and radio stations do very little to support Kenyan music. She however made the issue personal when she mentioned Capital FM’s Miss Mandi in a rather condescending statement.

“@missmandii not sure if you have ever traveled outside of Kenya before in your entire life, but…when/if you do…you will notice that they don’t play any Kenyan music whatsoever other than maybe 2-4 of us. If our radio mirrored that same energy…our charts wouldn’t look this way..but carry on sis,” wrote Victoria.

Miss Mandi went ahead to reply to Victoria’s comment on twitter saying ”Lol, dead ass Victoria Kimani asked me if I’ve traveled out of Kenya. Please please, the sooner you realize you’re not the only one with stamps on a passport the better. Wtf?!”

Reactions on twitter to this cat fight varied. Victoria Kimani supporters felt like Mandi was missing the point of the statement which is basically that radio stations should play more local content. Others felt she had no right to say such a statement since she seems to be more Nigerian than Kenyan.

Miss Mandi finished her tweets by saying ”Every time you engage her she complains about the same thing yet she isn’t doing much with her music to shift the needle in the game. Outside of features, she gave us only one song this year.”

Kenyan singer Victoria Kimani has received tumults of backlash for poking her nose into rappers MI Abaga and Vector’s beef. Notwithstanding that Kimani was once record label mates with MI at Chocolate City Records, she blatantly bashed MI and hailed Vector over him.

She was then bashed on Twitter for her disloyalty after she publicly supported Vector and called him winner of the beef between he and MI.

One Twitter user replied that it was Chocolate City mates, MI and Iceprince who interceded on her behalf when she was caught in Wizkid’s bed by his ex, Tania Omotayo. The Twitter user further went on and spilled so many allegations about the Kenyan singer.
