FAKE: Kwesi Botchway Picked To Partner Mahama In 2020
Former president John Dramani Mahama has debunked news making rounds that he has picked Prof. Kwesi Botchway as his running mate for the upcoming 2020 elections.
The former president took to his social media handles and entreated Ghanaians to disregard the news, labeling it fake news.
The state-owned Daily Graphic reported on its website Monday evening that Mahama had appointed a running mate pending official announcement.
It took less than an hour for Mahama to denounce the report. Many Ghanaians are waiting anxiously to see his new running mate after his former deputy, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur passed on in June last year.
Prof. Botchway was the chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) fact-finding committee which investigated the abysmal performance of the party leading to its trouncing in the 2016 general elections.
