CEO of Chamber Bulk Oil, Senyo Hosi, has in an interview on Joy News’ PM Express stated that he doesn’t regret criticizing the management of his former school, University of Ghana.

Mr. Hosi at an event to mark the 70th anniversary of Ghana’s premier university had lashed out at the lecturers of the university, calling some of them old and not thinking. He said their method of teaching was archaic: that students went to the school to get a degree but not to get an education.

He opined further that he would never hire any graduate from University of Ghana; saying that it was a matter of substance, and that students lacked the skills that make them viable.

His criticism toward the school has received a lot of backlash as his statements didn’t sit well with a lot of people and alumni of UG.

Yet in an interview on Joy News’ PM Express Mr. Hosi declared that he has no regrets for making the harsh comments.

He says, “I don’t have any regrets about being passionate and candid with my school. Sometimes, it’s the only way they get to hear. I have a good number of my colleagues still in very important places right now, we speak and nothing is happening…”

He further stated among other things, “We need to be honest about our problems and fix them. I love my school…, so don’t live on your 70-years glory, the time has moved on. People do not pay for degrees…”
