Nigerian musician Tiwa Savage has cancelled her performance at the upcoming DSTV delicious Festival in Johannesburg on the 21st of September.
Nigerian musician Tiwa Savage has cancelled her performance at the upcoming DSTV delicious Festival in Johannesburg on the 21st of September.
This comes in the wake of recent xenophobic attacks meted on foreigners in South Africa.
She said: “I refuse to watch the barbaric butchering of my people in SA. This is sick. My prayers are with all the victims and families affected by this.”
She further added that: “Killing anyone that is African are my people, whether they are Nigerians or not.”
Responding to a fan, she said despite the ongoings in South Africa, she was booked to perform at the show, referring to the issue as serious.
