According to reports, Nigerians have embarked on reprisal attacks on South African businesses in Nigeria in response to the xenophobic violence which happened earlier this week in South African cities including Johannesburg.

The spokesperson for the Foreign ministry, Lunga Ngqengelele, said after receiving reports and threats from some Nigerians, they have decided to temporarily close while they observe the situation.

Earlier on Wednesday, Nigeria pulled out from the World Economic Forum happening in South Africa to protest the attacks against Nigerians in South Africa.

Nigeria Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also announce that Air Peace Airlines has volunteered to send planes to South Africa from Friday September 6, 2019, to bring back Nigerians who wish to return to the country free of charge.
