A Kenyan man living in the US has been arrested and charged with battery, assault, rape and kidnapping of his ex-girlfriend in Oklahoma. According to reporters, the man Erick Wanjiku invited his ex to his apartment. He then forced her into sex and when she fought back, he began beating her.

The victim told the police that when she tried to escape, Erick strangled and raped her. When she tried to escape again, he allegedly dragged her back upstairs. He hit her in the forehead causing serious blood loss. Eventually, she managed to convince him to take her to the hospital. “I need to go to the hospital because i’m going to die,” she said. When they went out to the car, she managed to run away.

After she reported the assault, detectives from the Special Victims Unit worked fast and stayed late to make the arrest. They managed to lock up the suspect Wanjiku before he could escape the country. The police found the suspect’s apology letter to the victim. “I take responsibility for causing you harm instead of being supportive and upholding you,” wrote Erick.

Wanjiku denied raping her claiming not to remember. He was ordered by the judge to wear a GPS monitor and not leave the state without permission.
