I Cooked a Dog Because it Ate My Chicken – Kenyan Man Admits

He couldn’t have chicken stew so he had dog stew instead. Last week, a Kenyan man from Tharaka Nithi county was arrested by police for slaughtering and cooking a dog.

When the initial report was filed last week, it stated that the man allegedly ate the dog out of hunger. However, upon further investigation, the rather comical truth was uncovered. Turns out, Mr. Martin Munene killed and ate the dog in an act of retribution for the dog eating his chicken. He was arrested in his home in Karimba where police found him boiling part of the dog meat in a sufuria.

“There have been reports about a man who allegedly cooked a dog due to hunger. I want to strongly refute these reports. The man had earlier recorded a statement with the area chief that he committed the act because the dog had eaten his chicken,” said the county commissioner to Citizen Digital reporters.

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji later ordered for his immediate release. The County Criminal Investigation officer (CCIO) is liaising with the county commissioner to provide the man with much needed food.
