The ex-president died last week in a hospital in Singapore after suffering from a long illness. The body of the deceased arrived in Zimbabwe yesterday and he’s to be buried over the weekend.
His family, however, is angry with the Zimbabwe government for not involving them in the funeral arrangements of their relative.

His family says he will be buried in his family home Kutama on Sunday night but the government in a statement stated that the body of the ex-president will be buried at the state monument as that is the resting place of all Zimbabwean heroes.
“His body will lie in state at Kutama on Sunday night… followed by a private burial – either Monday or Tuesday – no National Heroes’ Acre [the national monument for liberation heroes]. That’s the decision of the whole family,” his nephew Leo Mugabe told the AFP news agency.
The family feels that the governments’ action is a snub of Mugabe’s family.
