I Made Sh. 1.8 Million in 2 Hours at a Birthday Party – Singer Akothee Reveals

Whether you like it or not, Akothee is a force to be reckoned with and will continue being Kenya’s wealthiest musicians. She recently made a fortune after performing at an exclusive beach party in Kilifi county for Italian tycoon Bruno Massimo on his birthday.


The tycoon who turned 60 years old hired Akothee as the main act at his lavish party. The event was graced by seven of Bruno’s wealthy Italian friends. Some of them included Alex of Diamonds Dream of Africa and Roberto Lenzi (of Papa Remo Beach in Watamu), who also turned a year older on the same day as Massimo.

The all-white invite-only party went down at the Kilili Baharini Resort. King of Ohangla Tony Nyadundo also performed at the party. Bruno Massimo reportedly paid Akothee a cool Sh 1.8 million for her 2 hour performance. Half of the amount was dedicated towards Akothee’s Turkana charity initiative.

In other news, Akothee who is a fan favorite among many Kenyans has ruled out joining politics claiming it would make her broke. “I don’t want to go broke. I’m also not going to change my lifestyle to fit into the society, and I don’t want to be anyone’s role model. I have one life to live and will live it the way I want,” she told the Star
