Listen Up Ladies: More Weed, More Orgasms – Here’s the Proof that Smoking Weed Increases Sexual Pleasure

Marijuana, popularly known as weed is probably the highest consumed drug among the youth in Kenya. It is known for inducing hunger when smoked and making food taste better. However, did you know that studies suggest that getting high could make sex feel better, too.

The findings above were published in the journal Science Medicine. In the findings, researchers unveiled that women who used weed before sex enjoyed the sex more than those who did not use the drug. They had higher sex drives, less pain during the encounter, and more satisfying orgasms compared to women who abstained. They also found that women who frequently used weed at any point, not just before sex, were more likely to have enjoyable orgasms compared to those who rarely got high.

For the sake of the study, people who got high on a weekly basis were considered “frequent users” while “rare users” only got high several times in a year. Despite concluding that marijuana impacts sexual satisfaction, the authors aren’t quite sure why. However, they theorize it could be due to lowered stress, anxiety, and inhibitions, which make people more likely to experiment in bed. It may release any tension and set the users free. Or, maybe weed is a special plant that just really changes the way you experience intimacy.

THC, the part of marijuana that gets you high, binds to cannabinoid receptors in our brains. This boosts the amount of dopamine in the system. The hormone is partially responsible for pleasure, in our bodies, which may explain for the increase in satisfaction. Of course, it’s entirely possible to help your partner orgasm without resorting to drugs. Try switching up positions, or just communicate about their needs.
