Formerly known as Batman, he rose to fame with his hit song ‘Linda’ which happened to be the title of his debut album, and was an instant success. It won him two Ghana Music Awards for Hiplife Artist of the Year and New Hiplife Artist of the Year.

Samini can pride himself as a consummate musician with several Ghana Music Awards including Artiste of the Year in 2007, and a Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Award. He also won the 2008 Hiphop World Award for Best African Artist in Nigeria.

He has performances in Canada, UK, Holland, Italy and across the African continent under his belt. He has also shared stages with artists like Shaggy and Ja Rule as well collaborations with numerous artists from all over Africa.

However, recently Samini has been quiet in the music arena. He was nominated alongside others for the artiste of the decade award in the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) 2019 but lost to Sarkodie in that catrgory. Not much has been seen of Samini music-wise.

His fellow dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale even suggested that Samini is no longer in his prime. According to Shatta, Samini was ‘used’ by industry players during his era but did not have any monetary benefits whatsoever.

We know Samini has been into farming for some time now. But about 2 days ago, Samini posted a video on his official Instagram page with the caption: “Looking into some heavy duty agricultural machinery and learning some new and innovative ways of going organic and “chemicals free” for a safer harvest and a healthier meal.”

He was on a business tour in Ipswich, Suffolk in the United Kingdom learning about agricultural machinery and farming methods.

Apparently Samini’s farm (Highgrade farms) has been doing well and he personally has been keenly interested in agriculture especially organic farming. His farm is into livestock farming (cattle and rabbit rearing) as well as cash and seasonal crops.

This leaves us to wonder if Samini is intending to ditch music entirely and concentrate full time on agriculture. If there is anything we know about Samini, it’s the fact that he does everything with exceptional excellence, so we have no doubt that he will excel in this endeavor if he considers it full time.
