Kenyan Men Are Now Renting Their Wives To Rich Tourists

It has emerged that men living along the Kenyan coastal counties in Mombasa rent out their spouses to rich tourists for some income due to poverty.

To beat the rising levels of poverty, some Kenyans have been handing over their wives and husbands to the tourists who want a good time before reuniting with them after the contract.

According to one tour guide, James Kimani, he has been renting his wife out to rich tourists since August 2018, in pursuit for an extra income to cater for his family.

He narrated that: “All this begun when one of the tourists asked me for a favour, to help get him a Kenyan woman to spend a good time with while in Kenya, and due to extreme poverty, I offered my wife instead.”

He says that they are still married and love each other, though his wife has been away from home for the last two months after he hooked her up with another tourist, adding that she brings home as much as Sh40,000 a month.

Kilifi County Police boss Patrick Okeri confirmed having knowledge of the same, adding that it has grown to an extent that some women even have two husbands, a European and their original Kenyan husbands.
