VIDEO: Mad Love For Jamaican Dancehall Musician Popcaan As He Storms Nima In Accra, Ghana

Popcaan, whose real name is Andre Jay Sutherland, is a Jamaican dancehall singer and songwriter. You would recall that he featured Nigerian musician Davido in his song ‘Risky’ which became an instant hit.

During the Year of Return in Ghana last year, numerous celebrities trooped into the country but many returned after the festive season was over.

Not Popcaan though. The Jamaican deejay is reported to have bought a house in Ghana and now many people in the Ghanaian media space are even associating his move to the ‘Beyond The Return’ initiative launched by the Government of Ghana.

It seems Popcaan has rapidly amassed a fan base in Ghana as he is showed love and cheered everywhere he goes in the country.

So Popcaan was at Nima, a suburb of Accra, recently and a video he posted on his official Instagram page shows how madly his fan base in Ghana has grown.

In the video, fans who trooped in to either take a peak of the Jamaican artiste or to express their love and support for him virtually stampeding his car.

One could see security personnel tirelessly trying to control the crowd and to create a path for Popcaan’s car to move.

Again, you could see in the frames of the video of the many fans who cheered him as filmed the video.
