Terrified Nigerians Empties Sanitizers From Supermarkets As COVID-19 Strikes-Photo

The first case of the deadly coronavirus was confirmed by the Nigerian health Authorities earlier today which brings Nigeria to being part of the countries that recorded the outbreak of the deadly virus since its outbreak earlier this year in China.

The announcement of the confirmed virus was made by the Federal Health Ministry which mentioned that the deadly coronavirus(COVID-19) was detected in an Italian citizen who works in Nigeria. This has gotten many Nigerians terrified including their neighboring countries.

One way of avoiding the virus which the Federal Health Ministry mentioned is to thoroughly wash one’s hands under running water and also use alcohol-based hand sanitizers. This has gotten to many as the easiest method of preventing the virus and so many Nigerians have taken to emptying supermarkets sanitizers, making the demand of sanitizers go up just like in the case of Ebola.

A photo shared by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, a Nigerian Lawyer and TV host on his twitter handle showed a Nigerian supermarket located at Ebeano, lekki out of stock of sanitizers as at 9:05 this morning. The photo seemed hilarious but again shows how many are doing the best they can to curb the spread of the virus.

The Ministry mentioned that citizens should keep away from people who are coughing or sneezing and also cautioned social media users not to raise false alarm since it can lead to misinformation.
