Police Arrests 406 People For Breaking Lockdown Directives

The Police have apprehended some 406 persons who where found breaking the lockdown rules laid by the government, Head of Prosecution for Accra Region revealed.

ACP Lydia Donkor also said forty one(41) out of the figure have been processed for court and will be facing the music soon.


She added that 103 are in police custody and 248 have been granted bail.

ACP Donkor disclosed that most of the violators were in Accra with 161 persons arrested. 70 were arrested in Ashanti Region.

She warned that the police will enforce strict measures to make sure every Ghanaian is protected from the virus if it means arresting and persecuting recalcitrant people.

“For these recalcitrant people who have refused to comply, the message is that you are going to be dealt with in accordance with the imposition of Restriction Act (Act 1012),” ACP Donkor stated.
