The incident occurred near Amakanma Housing Estate in Umuahia South Local Government Area of the state at about 7:00p.m. on her way home after work. She was in the company of her general manager and company driver.

The armed assailants who were on a motorbike and Toyota Sienna space bus had trailed the Hilux van and shot the driver, Kingsley Onyeokuche, before fleeing with their captive, perhaps to stop him from giving a hot chase after them.

They kidnappers also made away with other valuables like laptops and phones together with other personal items. They have since demanded a ₦ 20m ransom before her release.
