Man Sentenced To Death For Raping And Killing 8 Year Old Girl

A court in Rivers State has sentences a young man to death by hanging. The accused was found guilty of rape and gruesome murder of an eight year old girl.

Ifeanyi Maxwell Dike committed the dastasrd act in August 2017 and has been on trial since then.

Dike who is believed to be related to the deceased, Chikamso Victory Nmezurumba, brutally raped her and strangled her to death.

He then proceeded to remove some body parts of the little girl for alleged ritual purposes.

That same night, while disposing of the body, he was caught by the night vigilante group in the community and handed to the police.

Dike managed to abscond from custody with the collusion of a corrupt police officer identified as Sgt Johnbosco Okoroeze who later got sacked.

In a judgment that lasted almost three hours, Justice Enebeli condemned the barberic actions of Dike and his accomplice, one Ugochukwu. He sentenced them to death by hanging.
