How Okomfour Kwadee Suddenly Became MAD Overnight

Jerry Anaba who was popularly known in the showbiz circle across Ghana as Okomfour Kwadee is one notable figure whose name would never be missed in the archives of highlife music genre in Ghana.

Okomfour Kwadee gained tremendous recognition as he became a home known name when it comes to Highlife music in Ghana with his comprehensive way of telling stories in a musical way.

The place of his residence in Kumasi, Ghana was named after the sensational African artist and this clearly speaks much about this musical figure.

Known for his top-notch performance at the 2002 edition of the Ghana Music Awards, Okomfour Kwadee who was the music maestro at that time rocked the stage with good traditional highlife tunes.

Okomfo Kwadee who hails from Navrongo in the Upper East Region of Ghana was clairvoyant to have remained relevant for long and his fan base would have grown tremendously following his unique of presenting his message or story in a musical way.  

Kwadee as affectionately called known for his debut songs ‘Kwadee; became the most celebrated artiste of his time and it remains clear as decorated rappers like Sarkodie could boldly say the likes of Okomfour Kwadee was a big inspiration to him when growing as an artist.

Lyrically, Okomfour Kwadee was truly a genius if that word wouldn’t even be thought underrated following his major hit song after hit song.

The ‘Ataa Adwoa’ crooner, Okomfour Kwadee in 2007 won the Original lyrics or song at the Ghana Music Awards with his song ‘Ka Wo Nan To so’.

Just after that year, the fame turned into shame as it was gathered that, the once music sensation whose musical prowess has gained her recognition and respect to be learned in music courses across all educational levels has been hit with a mental challenge.

Fast forward, other people believed that Kwadee’s mental challenge was spiritually oriented as others wondered why such a personality with much fame and respect could all of a sudden go financially unstable and mentally challenged.

Another side of the faction was also with the belief that Okomfour Kwadee was hit with a mental challenge as a result of his consistent abuse of hard drugs.

A lot being said about him, Kwadee was noted to engage in drugs of a sort and it wouldn’t be a surprise to believe the thought that, the highlife music sweetheart chased from grace to shame as a result of his addict to drugs
