Cause Of Music Legend, Majek Fashek’s Death Revealed

Iconic reggae musician Majekodunmi Fasheke, famed as Majek Fashek, was pronounced dead on June 1 in New York and the cause of his death has been revealed.

His manager, Uzoma Omenka, confirmed that Majek died at around 11: 45 Pm after battling with cancer for over a year, according to Vanguard.

“Today been having pressure calls, well it is true that the African No 1 Legendary ICON has gone to be with the LORD his Maker.”

“Let celebrate him, his achievements, and his family, whatever decisions made by his immediate family will be notified.”

Uzoma also said the musician was advised to move closer to his family which is why he relocated to New York from London,a dding that Majek was separated from his wife and three sons for over 10 years until last September.

“We moved him from London to New York last September on the advice of the doctors that he should stay close to the family. Majek reunited with his family last year after 10 years of separation. He died in their company, ” Uzoma said.

Until his death, Majek was one of Nigeria’s surviving Reggae icons. He was born in benin-City, Edo State, Nigeria, and died aged 57.
