“Abiola Ajimobi’s Death Is Painful and A Personal Loss” – Governor Akeredolu

Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, who remains the governor of Ondo State has characterized the demise of Abiola Ajimobi, the late former governor of Oyo State as an individual misfortune.

Akeredolu disclosed that in an announcement marked by Ojo Oyewamide, Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Media and Publicity expressed that the former governor was appraised as a pith of boldness and knowledge and would always stay in the hearts of all.

The public announcement further stated that:

“Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN receives with a deep sense of loss, the demise of Senator Abiola Isiaka Ajimobi, former Governor of Oyo State.

He is personally touched and feels the sense of a great loss for many reasons. Aside his political affinity with the late Ajimobi whom he fondly referred to as Egbon, Governor Akeredolu recalls the memorable days of their shared communality and brotherliness in the City of Ibadan prior to their venture into politics.”

The demise of the former Governor prods remarkably nostalgic moments. Twice, he had cause to be Ajimobis Lead Counsel in defense of his gubernatorial mandate; and on both occasions, they savoured victorious moments.”

Akeredolu further stated that Senator Ajimobi rendered massive support as he aspired for the governorship of Ondo State in 2012 and 2016 second attempt.
