Banky W, Don Jazzy, Burna Boy And Other Nigerian Celebs React To SARS Dissolution

Joy has found its way back on the streets of Nigeria after days of protest against the Nigerian Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

Earlier this afternoon, the Inspector General of Police announced the termination of SARS and many have celebrated the news. Ace Music producer Don Jazzy, Burna Boy, Banky W, Wizkid and other celebrities have reacted.

On twitter, Banky W wrote;“Nigeria, we won. IG of Police has announced that SARS has been dissolved. But that’s only the 1st battle. The war is still on. We now need to see corrupt officers prosecuted, and wide scale police reforms. And we need sustained systemic change. This just shows what is possible.”

CEO Mavin records, Don Jazzy wrote;

“Congratulations Nigerians. Y’all did it. This is just the beginning tho. But yes we can go all the way. Now we can help the police get enough funding from the few thieves holding it at the top. So they can police us right.”

Grammy nominated singer Burna Boy also said; “They have now allegedly disbanded SARS but so much more needs to be done!! Wizkid’s post was that of joy speaking about how they won the battle.“This is just the beginning!! We won our fight to #ENDSARS .. now Reform the Nigerian police!! #Endpolice brutality! We deserve good governance! #Endpolicebrutality”
