Ralph St Williams Berates Foreigner Smoking at the Mall
Ghanaian activist Ralph St Williams, popularly known as Ralph the Fellow Ghanaians, stopped a foreign national engaged in breaking the laws of Ghana.
The incident occurred at Accra mall, where the unidentified foreigner was smoking, in contravention of the laws governing the property.
In a viral video, Ralph St. Williams approached the offending individual and demanded they stop engaging in behaviour that is illegal under the laws of Ghana.
Ralph kept a loud voice as he approached the foreigner, who was accompanied by a second individual, also foreign.
An argument had previously broken out between the two individuals and the mall security, who attempted to stop him from flouting the ‘no smoking’ rule to no avail.
Ralph intervened and berated the foreigner.
He asked why he was refusing to listen to the orders from mall security combatively called on him to stop breaking the law.
“Are you saying he should be a police officer before calling on you to do the right thing?” he asked.
The confrontation almost turned physical as the foreign national moved his hands to stop Ralph, who was advancing on him and recording.
The second individual with the foreigner stepped in and attempted to calm things down in a reasonable tone. The law-breaking foreigner remained belligerent and bragged about his identity, asking, “do you know who I am?”
Ralph hit back, screaming, “who are you, who are you?. Whoever you are, you think you can break the laws?”
The situation eventually calmed down with an agreement for the police to be called. It remains unclear how the incident was resolved.
On social media, Ghanaians praised Ralph St. Williams for his uncompromising approach to standing up for the right thing to be done.
In recent days, Ralph has gone on a spree of stopping unlawful or harmful social behaviour, including berating an elderly man for sweeping filth into a gutter.
