Moliy Performs ‘Shake it to the Max’ at 2025 BET Awards
Ghanaian-Jamaican singer Moliy delivered a breathtaking performance of the ‘song of the summer’, Shake it to the Max, at the 2025 BET Awards held on Monday, June 9, 2025.
Moliy, wearing a trademark flimsy dress, performed her viral hit that has taken over the world since its release last year.
Her performance excited the crowd at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
Moliy has risen from a little-known singer to one of the biggest stars in the world since the release of Shake it to the Max.
The song has dominated charts and become a social media phenomenon, being used in countless viral videos.
Her performance at the awards did not disappoint either, as Ghanaians on social media praised her for adequately representing the country.
Celebrities, including Gloria Sarfo, Juliet Ibrahim, and the rapper Edem, left congratulatory messages for Moliy after blogger GhKwaku shared the video of her performance.
“Proud of you, girl ❤️❤️. Ghana to the world.” Ghallywood and Nollywood star, Juliet Ibrahim, heaped praises on Moliy.
Actress Gloria Sarfo also said, “This is impressive. May we always do things that would raise the flag of our country higher.”
Moliy also reacted to her performance on social media, sharing a video dancing to her song with the caption: “POV, you’re the first Ghanaian artist to perform at the BETs.”

Many Ghanaian and African stars rocked up on the BET red carpet in their best looks.
Musician Black Sherif turned heads in a trademark eye-popping outfit.
A video showed him linking up with reggae dancehall legend, Buju Banton.
Michael Blackson was also spotted at the awards red carpet, engaging in his typical comedic behaviour.
Moliy turned heads with her beautiful, bejewelled, golden dress on the red carpet.
