Togo’s Faure Gnassingbé

In 2005, Faure Gnassingbé, then a 38 year old novice was thrusted into the political limelight and ultimately the presidency following the death of his father, Gnassingbé Eyadéma.

Though international and local organisations questioned his legitimacy, he was able to cement his grip to power with the heavy machination of the country’s army.

Upon severe pressure and threats of sanctions, he resigned his post and contested the next elections which he won controversially.

D.R. Congo’s Joseph Kabila Kabange

A little over a week following the assassination of Laurent-Désiré Kabila, his 29 year old son, Joseph Kabila was handed the presidency in tandem with his father’s dying wish.

Though many of his citizens were pessimistic looking at his inexperience in the political realm, Joseph Kabila went on to prove his capabilities, negotiating many deals with rebels and leading a massive infrastructure development.

He handed over power to the current president, Félix Tshisekedi after 18 years in charge of the Central African country.

Chad’s Mahamat Déby Itno

37 year old Mahamat Déby Itno is set to resume control of Chad following the assassination of his father, Idris Deby by rebels his government was fighting in the northern part of the country.

A general in the Chadian army who also deputises the commander of the northern campaign, Mahatma Deby will be leading a military council which will be in power for the next one and a half years.

Equatorial Guinea’s Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue 

In the case of Equatorial Guinea, the long time president, Teodorin Obiang is still alive. However, he has nominated his son who shares his name to be his successor in the event of his death.

To show how serious his decision is, the president who has been in power for 42 years elevated his son to the position of Vice President in 2012.

Many citizens of the Central African country have condemned the dynasty-styled obsession of the ruling family.

The international shame emanating from the younger Obiang’s extravagant lifestyle and massive engagement in corruption might impede his transition to the presidency.

Nevertheless, this is Africa and everything is possible. All he has to do is to chill in expensive exotic vacations as he awaits his 79 year-old father to die so as to start his term.

Long time Chadian president, Idriss Déby, has been shot dead as he led his government’s army in battle against rebels in the north of the country.

Provisional results released by the country’s electoral body on the election held on 11th April projected a landslide victory for him with 80% of the vote in his favour.

The government and parliament have since been dissolved. A military council headed by his son General Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno will be in control of the Central African country for the next one and a half years.

The 68 year-old former leader was one of Africa’s longest-serving leaders having served over three decades.

He came to power in December 1990 after overthrowing the Hissène Habré government.

United States’ President Donald Trump has tested positive for the coronavirus disease. The news was released by the president on his official Twitter handle.

Donald Trump also revealed that his wife, Melania has also been infected with the disease which has so far killed more than 200,000 Americans.

The tweet added that the first couple will begin their quarantine process immediately.

A lady has given a chilling narration on how her own mother snatched her husband from her while she lay on her death bed battling for her life amid a series of illnesses.

Kamylla de Melo from Pernambuco, a state in north-eastern Brazil had the shock of her life while admitted at the hospital where she had spent close to four months in intensive care.

The 31 year old mother-of-one narrated how devastated she became when her father told her the two most trusted people in her life were now having an affair.

She gathered enough courage and put a call through to her mum , Jose Marques 51, to get a confirmation about the rumour. Her mother corroborated the rumour amid bragging that she is well positioned to handle her son-in-law.

She revealed that during her long stay at the hospital, her former husband visited her only twice while her own mother never bothered to see how she was faring.

Her mother had told her she was caring for her grandson jn her house not knowing she was using it as a conduit to continue her immoral affair with her then husband.

Her husband finally divorced her and moved in with her mother and the two have since married much to the chagrin of everyone who knows them.

Kamylla de Melo concluded that she was now in a better relationship with a new man who respects and adores her very much.

She has also sworn never to forgive her mother and former husband for the excruciating pain their affair had on her wellbeing.

Chrissy Teigen, wife of American R&B singer John Legend has shared the heartbreaking news on the death of their third child who died few weeks to his birth.

The 34 year old model had been rushed to the hospital last Sunday after experiencing severe bleeding in the final trimester of her pregnancy. 

She gave the heartbreaking news with a lengthy post and series of images on social media to announce the death of the boy whom they had planned to name Jack.

Chrissy wrote in her post:

‘We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough’. 

The 41 year old musician whose real name is John Roger Stephens met Chrissy on the set of the music video for his Stereo song in 2006. They got married seven years later and are parents to a four year old girl and two year old boy.
