A 60-year-old UK man identified as John Pomfrey has said he had no idea his wife, Christiana was faking blindness for 15 years just to scam £1 Million in benefits.

Christiana, 65-years, lied that she was totally blind and wheelchair-bound but she was caught by surveillance driving, going for a walk unaided while reading a newspaper and collecting her grandchildren from school.

On Monday, she was jailed for three years and eight months after pleading guilty to multiple counts of fraud, false accounting and making or supplying articles for use in frauds.

Her husband, Mr Pomfrey denied fact that he was aware of his wives lies.

“People think I must have known what she was up to and where all the money went, but the answer to both is I don’t have a clue. She has destroyed my life and I cannot forgive her. She is the craftiest woman I have ever known.” He told Daily Mail.

Christiana confessed she had spent cash on numerous holidays, cosmetic treatment and clothes and given some of the money away to charity and those in need.

Raila Odinga’s daughter Rosemary Odinga probably got the best Christmas present of all. After two years of being blind, she has finally regained her eyesight.

On Christmas day, Rosemary told the story of her struggle after losing her sight At St. Peter’s ACK church in Bondo. She went blind following an illness and visited several hospitals, both local an international in search of a remedy.

“I felt alone and had to quickly learn to use sounds and movements of people to tell who was around me. Those were the most trying moments of my life,” said Rosemary.

Rosemary also talked about how hard it was not being able to see her children during those difficult two years. ”People would see me and think I was able to see because my eyes were ‘wide open’. I am grateful for your support during those difficult times,” she finished.

Several people took to social media to share in the joy of Rosemary for this Christmas miracle. Comedian Jalang’o who is currently in the spotlight for his cheating scandal shared a picture with Rosemary captioning ”One more reason to be happy and celebrate God waah! Rosemary Odinga has regained her eyesight after 2 years of blindness!” It truly was a Christmas miracle.

Wife of acclaimed music producer and pianist, Cobhams Asuquo, Ojuolape, has revealed that her first child was born blind.

Ojuolape made this known in an interview, adding that her son’s blindness has made her closer to God.

Ojuola, a PR expert who got married to the visually impaired Cobhams Asuquo welcomed their first child on Nov 30th, 2011, in the US. It wasn’t until months later that she discovered he was visually impaired.

“The elephant in the room in my life in the past six years is pretty much… So, I got married, and we got pregnant. My pregnancy was fantastic, I didn’t even know I was pregnant, found out I was pregnant, still wasn’t sure I was pregnant because I didn’t have any symptoms.”

On her smooth delivery, she said: ”Everything was so smooth. And then fast forward to four months after my son was born and the doctor was like ‘his eyes are not following’ and I was like, ‘What do you mean he’s not following?’

“And then suddenly, as a mother, your heart just starts palpitating.”

Ojuolape added that the experience made her question her spiritual strength. However, in spite of all that has happened, she said she believes she is making progress which is why she can finally share her story in the open.

David Asuquo, 7, is also an excellent pianist just like his famous father Cobhams Asuquo.

Here is another shocking tale of a Kenyan marriage gone wrong. Former Police Officer Dan Matakaya recently recounted the shocking story of how he suffered an acid attack by his wife that left him blind. On the morning of September 21st, 2013, Matakaya was fast asleep when his wife poured sulphuric acid solution on his face.

“After she poured acid on me, I tried to reach out for water but she had poured water on the floor and connected power. She wanted me to be electrocuted. I screamed for help and my neighbors took me to hospital,” he recalled. Matakaya lost his sight a little while after the attack. “Apparently, the acid continued to work on my eyes even after and it made me go blind.” Apparently, the acid content in his eyes had not been properly diluted. He was admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital from September 2013 to February 2014. He underwent 15 surgeries. Doctors did grafting, removed tissues from other parts of the body for the burns to heal from inside.

Mr. Matakaya pleaded for people to not take violence by women against men lightly. On August 25, 2019, Despite donations towards his treatments, his silver lining finally came on September 10 after he received full medical sponsorship by Face Forward International.He is now set to undergo special surgery to open up his nostrils in Beverly Hills, California.“God answered my prayers for a fully funded plastic surgery and I am in the States awaiting my surgery on Friday. I’m hopeful this one will go well,” he said.
