Harrysong went missing in action after his post, heightening the scare as contacts to him went numb.

The Reggea blues hit maker, in a recent interview, finally revealed that actual cause of his depression that made him almost take his life.

According to Harrysong, he was duped of over 180 million Naira by fraudsters and his lost almost made him go mad.He said he was saving up to venture in an oil and gas business in Delta State Nigeria but was robbed off his entire savings.

“I know it was everywhere about how down I was. I already had plans for 2020 – I was saving for a business. I’m from Delta State and we have oil. I was saving to get into a major business in oil and gas and I was duped. When I got the news that I had been duped of N180 million, it was almost everything to me at the time.

“When I said I was down, I was really down. But thank God for grace that we’re back stronger. Now, there’s life and talent – we are ready for the next phase. People thought I was going to die, but I wasn’t (laughs). It’s only been a year and some months since then and I have more. While there’s life there’s hope. Almost everybody; those who loved me, those who hated me, the ones that wanted to stand by me, some called to check if I had really died (laughs), but almost everybody reached out.”

In a tell-it-all chat with Berla Mundi on TV3s ‘A New Day’, the singer said that she left the music industry for a while now (two whole years) not because of pregnancy or falling out with her record label Lynx Entertainment as speculated, but because she suffered a severe case of depression, withdrawals its heaviest aftermath.

Mzvee says it took the support of her family and friends to make her feel better. She cites singer Efya as a good companion who held her hand and helped her out of her dark times.

Mzvee says she is now out of her cave and is ready to make good music. Moreover, she has released a new single titled ‘Sheriff’, and the visuals are out now.

Depression can hit even the best of us. Media personality Ciru Muriuki has publicly come out to share her depression story. The public figure who has been absent on social media explained that she has been going through a difficult period in her life.

In a video uploaded to her Instagram page, the BBC Africa journalist admitted that she struggled with her mental health, depression and self-image. She explained that her absence on social media was due to her demanding job.
“I have been MIA on social media for a bit. The biggest reason is work. Work can get really busy and don’t get me wrong, I love my job but it’s also really demanding…then there is also the fact that I have been struggling a bit with my mental health. I’ve had moments of great anxiety, I’ve had a couple of depressed moments,” she said.

The former NTV presenter also said “You know what, I’m understating it when I say depressed moments it sounds like I felt down for about three minutes and sixty three seconds and that’s not the case. I’ve had periods of days and days turning to weeks that I’ve just not been okay and because I’ve not been okay I have not had the motivation to do much other than work and sleep.

Ciru also mentioned that she’s had body image issues since gaining weight  “I had started working out this year and then I stopped and since then, I’ve put on quite some weight and I’m not really loving myself physically right now because I’m at my absolute thickest I’ve ever been. You know there are times you walk past your mirror and you’re like what is that rhino in my room, oh no it’s me. So I’ve really been struggling with my self-image and if you’re not really feeling great about yourself you’re not going to be posting many pictures of yourself,” said Ciru.
