Ghana’s confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus pandemic has increased to 7,881 as the number of active cases now stands at 5,004.

The Ghana Health Service has confirmed 113 more cases of Coronavirus across the country as of Sunday morning.

The Health Directorate furthered stated that one more person has died from the pandemic, bringing the number of fatalities to 26.

Coronavirus cases in Ghana have increased to 6,096, the Ghana Health Service has said in a report sighted on the Health Service Directorate’s online platform.

According to the Ghana Health Service Directotrate’s latest updates, the latest figures by the Service indicates 1,773 recoveries from the virus, representing an increase of 19 from the last update.

The number of deaths remain at 31 as of May 19, 2020.

This was confirmed by the Ghana Health Service (GHS) in its latest update on Tuesday night, May 19, 2020].

The Ghana Health Service has announced an additional 158 coronavirus cases in the country as the cases increase to 566.

The Ghana Health Service Directorate in a press briefing said a number of measures introduced to control and prevent further spread of the disease have resulted in the sudden increase in cases.

With Greater Accra remaining as the epicenter of the outbreak with 452 cases in Ghana, Kumasi also turns to be on the second spot with 49 cases.

“As of April 11, a total of 37,954 persons have been tested with 566 being positive for COVID-19. The breakdown of the 566 positive cases are as follows: four have been treated, discharged and tested negative, 552 cases have been categorised as mild disease on treatment, two moderate to severe cases, none currently on ventilators and eight have died.

“Of the 566 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 292 were reported from the routine surveillance, 159 from enhanced surveillance activities and 115 from travellers under mandatory quarantine in both Accra and Tamale.”
